Ministry of Health to make sure doctors prescribe Belarusian medications

The Ministry of Health issued an order that assigns full control over doctors' prescribing Belarusian medications. The necessary monitoring, tut.by reports, will be conducted on a monthly basis. Reports of domestic drugs prescribed by doctors will be provided by pharmacies which are within walking distance of the central clinics, hospitals and dispensaries.

According to the document, in each healthcare institution, there will be a person who will be responsible for working with representatives of the Belarusian pharmaceutical companies. Every week, physicians will be informed about the Belarusian medicines sold in pharmacies. Besides, information will be gathered about the Belarusian medications administered to patients during the visits and hospital discharges.

Ministry of Health orders to not only prescribe Belarusian drugs, but also to remove the logos of foreign drug manufacturers from work places.

For the promotion of Belarusian medicines hospitals promise to give bonuses (discounts etc.).
