Oldest woman on Earth dies at 117 (video)
She set a longevity record three years ago.
The oldest person in the world has died in Japan. Misao Okawa was 117 when she died in a nursing home in Osaka on April 1, 2015. She decided to celebrate her 117th birthday (March 5) a day earlier. The woman started having hearing problems and moving a bit slower, the staff noticed back then.
Misao Okawa was born on March 5, 1898. She got married in 1919 and gave birth to three children – two daughters and a son. She had four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The Japanese was announced the longest living person on Earth and added to the Guinness World Records in 2013, Lenta.ru reports.
