REP trade union leader released after detention

The leader of Radioelectronic Industry (REP) trade union Henadz Fiadynich today was released, union activist Andrei Stryzhak wrote on Facebook. Fiadynich was detained on Wednesday. Financial Investigations Department agents raided the office as part of the tax evasion investigation. Law-enforcement officials mentioned about the trade union's bank accounts in foreign countries (hundreds thousand dollars) and opened a criminal case. Agents also raided the offices of Belarusian Independent Trade Union in Salihorsk.
Stryzhak writes that after interrogation the former editor of trade union's website Natalla Pichuzhkina was also released. REP's chief accountant Ihar Komlik is now being held at a pretrial detention center.
