Combiner in Olympic outfit saw no broadcasts from London

"The outfit suits me well, they guessed my size", - combine operator of the state farm "Varanino" Alyaksandr Puhachou tells Euroradio, sitting behind the wheel of his machine. The officials of the Mahileu region invented a new way to stimulate people to struggle for the harvest - to present them Olympic outfits of the Belarus National team!

Puhachou is not married yet so he has no one to boast about  his new outfit. Although the combiner says he was pleased about the Olympic outfit more than about money, he has no idea what to do with it:

“It’s not appropriate to wear it to a disco or to some official event – maybe just to go for a walk or something…”

However, there’s no time to walk yet: the combiner works in the field from morning till late at night. There’s no time to watch the Olympic Games either. The combiner found out that the Olympics had lasted for two weeks already only when he was visited by people with the Olympic outfit for him.

What are other ways of motivation combiners to work at the harvesting campaign? Director of the state farm “Homeland” in Brest region Uladzimir Bandarenka boasts that his combiners earn 8-23 million roubles at harvesting! Euroradio was surprised by such high salaries and decided to peep into the pocket of the “Homeland” top-performer Fyodar Baslay:

“No, this is something over the top, of course. The chief specialist on economy explained to us very clearly in the beginning of the harvesting campaign, that if we harvest 900 tons of grains, we will be paid 1 thousand dollars. Well, this is approximately what we will get”..

Alyaksandr  Puhachou also gets surprised with a 23 million number.

“Oh, no, we don’t earn this much. In Summer, we earn about 7 million. In Winter, when I work as an engineer, I earn 2 million”.
