Greenpeace celebrates 40th anniversary
The international ecological organization was created on September 15, 1971.
"Greenpeace" was founded by David Fraser McTaggart. Before founding of the "green" organization he had a business in Canada. He headed the campaign against France's nuclear tests in the southern part of the Pacific ocean.
During the years of its existence "Greenpeace" has expanded from a group of enthusiasts to a powerful ecological organization which performs its activities all around the world. The "greens" are led by the principle "protest in action" in their activity. They organize actions which draw the attention of the society to ecological problems.
