Hrodna residents left with no central heating in bitter frosts (details)
The accident on central heating supply pipeline in Belush street occurred at about 3 a.m. today.
The press-center of the
Hrodna regional administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has
informed this to Euroradio.
Press-secretary: "Inhabitants of 6 flooded private
houses have been rescued - 11 people in total, including 3 children. The level
of hot water stream reached 1 meter. We used rescuing boards, and carried the
kids in the arms. The rescuers also involved a MAZ bus of the auto park #1 to
conduct evacuation measures. Two representatives of the Ministry of Emergency
Situations got thermal injuries when they where evacuating the children. One of
them got a burnt of 30% of his outer body, the other one - 3%. Both are
in hospital now".
Both casualties are conscious, notes the press-center of the rescuers.
5 cars dropped through the
road surface due to undermining of the road. Special equipment works at the
accident site. Several residential buildings stay without the central heating
in Belush Street, Belush Alley, Lidskaya Street, and also the office of the
company "Difa" and the kindergarten No. 38.
Hrodna residents post at the social networking sites that the classes at some
city schools have been cancelled.
