Independent journalists conduct a flash-mob at "Mass Media in Belarus"
The Minister of Information Aleh Praliaskouski and the first deputy head of the Administration Aliaksandr Radzkou did not react to the action.
An exhibition "Mass Media in Belarus" opened in Minsk. State publications are presented there in the first place, as well as various publishers' offices and advertising companies.
Euroradio's correspondent noticed no
non-state civil and political media at the exhibition. However, Moscow
government's booth is located at an honourable place. This booth contains
production of Moscow government's publishing office, near such media as
"Izvestiya" and "Rossiyskaya Gazeta". It suggests a book -
Aliaksandr Lukashenka's biography, written by a famous historian Roy
Medvedev.
About 10-15 employees of the newspapers "Nasha Niva" and
"Narodnaya Volya" conducted a flash-mob action before the exhibition
opened. They were standing near the entrance to the exhibition hall holding
their newspapers in hands. When the officials were holding their speeches at
the festive opening, the journalists stood in the first rows and held their
newspapers, pages unfolded. However, the Minister of Information Aleh
Praliaskouski, the first deputy head of the Administration Aliaksandr
Radzkou and the
head of "Belteleradiocompany" Henadz Davydzka did not react to the action.
After the festive opening the journalists managed to approach the officials,
show their newspapers and explain the situation.
