MEP goes to Helsinki to strive for cancellation of championship in Belarus

Let us remind you that a congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation has started in Helsinki today. The issue of giving the right to host the 2014 World Ice Hockey Championship that is supposed to take place in Minsk to another country is not on the agenda. However, it may be discussed.
“The issue of depriving Minsk of the right to host the championship may be discussed at the congress on May 18 or 19. It will depend on the delegates. Any delegate may raise this question but they do not have to do it”, - said Anna Biala, employee of Marek Migalski’s office, to Euroradio.
According to her, a press conference Marek Migalski and Eva Nyaklyayeva will take part in will be organized in Helsinki on Friday. Representatives of the International Ice Hockey Federation have been invited there. A petition against the 2014 World Ice Hockey Championship in Minsk will be presented to them.
