Mir Castle Hotel: Most rooms booked by Russians

“Most of our guests are Russians, they started reserving rooms a year ago. But there are some Belarusians too," Mir Castle administration told Euroradio.

A festive programme is offered to guests: you can celebrate the New Year's Day in ancient castles and have a  ride in a carriage in the country for 700 or 800 dollars.

“There will be a lot of fun - riding, Russian baths and barbeque in the open air".

Having found no vacant rooms in Mir Castle, I phoned Nyasvizh Castle. You can still book a room there but you should hurry. The prices are lower than in Mir Castle - 245 thousands for a day in a single room and 1 million 850 thousands - in a  VIP suite.

It is even more difficult to find vacant rooms in Belarusian sanatoriums. Our Russian neighbours have two weeks of holidays at Christmas and come to Belarus to have a rest and cure. All the vacant rooms were booked in "Belaya Rus" in a  few days.

The costs for Russians are higher than for Belarusians in "Belaya Rus" - 500 thousand roubles a day. But the discrimination does not stop them. The same can be said about our ski resorts. All the rooms were reserved at the beginning of October regardless of the high prices.

You can still reserve a room in Belarusian sanatoriums. But the prices are high. You can celebrate the New Year's Day for 40-100 dollars in Prague and even in Paris.
