New BPF office located under "Dentistry" sign (photo)
The party also changed neighbours: they moved to the Polish consulate and women underwear salon from the Police Academy and vodka shop.
The new office of the BPF party is located at the address Krapotkin Street, 93А. "Milavitsa" store which sells women underwear, and the Polish consulate are located nearby. The office is in the center of the city, but is' pretty far from the Independence Avenue and metro. Entry is located under the sign which says "Dentistry" (we haven't found a sign which would say "BPF" on the building).
Another inconvenience - a beautiful but uncomfortable staircase. One has to go up the stairs by foot to the 5th floor. There is no elevator in the building.
The doors to the new office are on the fifth floor, to the left. Men's toilet for the whole floor is located nearby.
The old legendary doors from Masherau Ave, 8 (or Varvashenya, 8 in the previous years) are standing by the wall as an exhibit, dear to one's heart. This part of the office reminds the old office very much - a stand for an employee, "Nasha Niva" and "Narodnaya Volya" for sale, a booth with Belarusian books. The ficus also moved together with the party.
A conference hall is a mansard with a skewed ceiling and windows in it. It is rather big but there is not more space than in the previous office. The party members left the old arm-chairs.
The first press-conference in the new office was conducted by...the BCD leaders. Left to right: Dzianis Sadouski, mother of political prisoner Edward Lobau, Vital Rymasheuski.
Party leader Alyakesy Yanukevich got a small walk-through room. It is totally uninhabited yet, and we didn't manage to catch Alyaksey in the office either. "It is for everyone to see what he is doing", the BPF members say half-jokingly.
There is another room for the BPF's Council Secretariat. They will hold closed sessions there.
Let us note that the official opening of the new BPF office will take place on August 25.
