Vitsebsk workers get paid after protest (video)
State-owned construction company declines a comment on the cause of arrears
As of April 1, workers at Vitsebsk Construction Enterprise had their salary payments delayed since January. Eventually, they refused to to get down to work building housing projects in Bilava neighborhood.
A half of arrears due was paid on the day of the protest. The rest has already been paid as well, an enterprise representative told Euroradio.
Vitsebsk building enterprise: "All the wages have been paid. The report has been sent to the Ministry."
But the workers are discontent with their wages anyway, website People's Vitsebsk News reports. Most of them get betwen 2 and 3 million Belarusian roubles a month (approximately 200-300 Euros).
