Vuvuzelas are forbidden at BATE and Belarusian national team games
UEFA will show the African musical instrument to the policemen so they could differ it from other "pipes".
UEFA prohibited vuvuzelas at all the tournaments conducted by the
Federation. We will not hear these loud African football pipes during
qualification games of European Championship, Champions' League and
Europa League. Belarus will join the countries which approve this
prohibition, told the Press-Secretary of our football federation Uladzimir Nestsiarovich, to the European Radio for Belarus.
“If
this decision is taken at the UEFA level, it spreads on all the
European countries and all the tournaments, conducted under the
authority of UEFA. That is why we will definitely follow this decision.
Vuvuzelas should not be present at our stadiums”.
The police is supposed to counterstand vuvuzelas at the entrances to the stadium. However, an obvious problem occurs here.
“I
have never seen a vuvuzela in my life and I have no idea what it sounds
like, although I got acquainted with it in absentia during the World
Cup,- says the Press Secretary of Minsk police Aliaksandr Lastouski. ―
But i can assure you that Minsk police to not conduct any self-invented
preoccupation measures at the matches of international level.
Consultative
meetings with UEFA representatives take place several days before each
game. During these meetings they inform us about all the requirements.
The policemen will be shown what a vuvuzela looks like - for those who
don't know. And they will not admit vuvuzelas to the stadium.
If UEFA tells us not to admit vuvuzelas - we won't!”
Aliaksandr Lastouski
is convinced that the police will cope with vuvuzelas. According to
him, it was only once - at the game Belarus-Ukraine - that the fans
managed to bring forbidden things to the "Dynama" stadium - 4 fireworks.
“It was really an emergency situation for us. However, we
worked operatively and detained the people who had brought the fireworks
at the stadium's exit. It was a great shock for them: later I read at
the internet forums: "I can't believe it - the Belarusian cops really
did a big job - how they managed to find us? No police in the world are
capable of that!”
Let us remind you, that Belarusian national
team, as well as "BATE" Barysau, which qualified to the Europa League
group stage, play under the authority of UEFA now. The first game to
which Belarusian fans will be forbidden to bring vuvuzelas - Belarus vs
Romania. It will take place on September 7 at "Dynama" stadium.
It
is worth mentioning that UEFA's prohibition does not concern Belarusian
Championship games - any pipes are allowed there as before.
