Russian oligarch Kerimov to be charged in Belarus today
The Investigation Committee is going to do it in the near future.
The main shareholder of Uralkali Suleiman Kerimov will be put on the Interpol notice after that, Interfax-West reports referring to ONT.
A criminal case is about to be started against Kerimov, the main shareholder of Urakali, the Belarusian Investigation Committee announced on August 29. It will be connected with Vladislav Baumgertner’s case.
Suleiman Kerimov is ready to give explanations to Belarusian investigations, Russian edition Kommersant reports. The Russian oligarch’s lawyer, Anatoli Kucherena, told the edition about it. However, Kerimov will not go to Minsk and may use the Russian Investigation Committee for it.
Uralkali director-general Vladislav Baumgertner was detained in Minsk after meeting Belarusian PM Mihail Myasnikovich on Monday, August 26. The director-general of Uralkali did damage to Belarus’ state interests, the Investigation Committee said. He has been accused of power abuse and is facing up to 10 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property. The losses suffered by the Belarusian Potash Company reached $100 million, the Investigation Committee said. Baumgertner is in KGB prison now.
