Ukrainian flag to be destroyed in Baranavichy (photo)
Judge Stanislau Pivavar has decided to destroy the flag used by civil activist Uladzimir Hundar during his protest action.
Uladzimir Hundar approached the cinema house Kastrychnik in Baranavichy on March 4. He was holding the poster ‘Putin’s aggressive gangs – hands off from Ukraine and Belarus! and a Ukrainian flag. The activist was fined for 1 million 950 thousand roubles for the action.
‘The material evidence’ was preserved until the trial. Then the judge decided that it was necessary ‘to destroy the material evidence – the poster and the Ukrainian flag’. The court’s decision cannot be appealed.
The decision insults the state symbol of the neighbouring state which is not good for Belarus-Ukraine brotherly relations, head of Baranavichy TBM affiliate Victar Syrysta thinks.
