Yarmoshyna hopes for more active political parties during local elections

Central Elections Commission chairperson Lidzia Yarmoshyna hopes that political parties will be more active during the local elections, she said in an interview with Belapan news agency. She expressed regret that the previous elections had demonstrated that almost a half of political parties failed to register their nominees as candidates.

Yarmoshyna stressed that political parties are set up in order to take part in elections, while their other activities are insignificant.

She also noted that valid candidates from the opposition could become members of electoral commissions. But there would hardly be a lot of them.
