Zmitser Dashkevich to stand trial again on January 30
Ex-political prisoner Zmicier Dashkevich is accused of violating the preventive police supervision rules.
The hearing will be held in Minsk's Pershamaiski District Court at 2.40 p.m., BelaPAN reports.
He is not going to appear in court because he is “busy at work”, Dahskevich claimed. The ex-political prisoner does not consider himself guilty. Criminals who have framed up charges many times work in courts, he reckons.
Co-leader of the international civil association Young Front (Czech Republic) Zmitser Dashkevich received a warning for violating the preventive supervision rules. It happened after he had not appeared in Minsk's Pershamaiski District inspectorate on December 19. The ex-political prisoner must appear there every first, second and fourth Thursday of every month. He forgot that December 19 was the fourth Thursday, Dashkevich said. An inspector phoned him the next morning and asked him to come. Dashkevich did it right away but they still drew up a violation report.
Dashkevich was released on August 28, 2013. He spent almost three years in prison.
