10 days in jail for anticorruption leaflets
UCP activist Syarhei Palcheuski was detained during a pre-election picket on March 9.
Minsk Soviet District Court sent the activist to jail for “unauthorized picketing” on Monday.
Being a candidate’s trustee, Palcheuski was distributing leaflets informing about corruption in Belarus. He was wearing a paper poster with the inscriptions: “This government must resign”, “Car Tax? Screw...” and others. Strangers in plain clothes detained him.
The court dedicated that Syarhei Palcheuski had not had permission to organize a picket near Kamarouski Market, Radio Liberty reports.
