Political prisoner Viktar Babaryka has been shown to the public for the first time in a long time. After spending 4.5 years in prison, he looks aged.

The video and photos of Babaryka were published by Raman Pratasevich. The political prisoner recorded a video message addressing his loved ones. "I love you all very much. All the best!" - he said at the end of the video clip. Viktar Babaryka also wrote letters to his relatives (he had no contact with them since 2023).

The meeting between Pratasevich and Babaryka took place in the office of the administration of the Navapolatsk colony.

Viktar Babaryka and his son Eduard were arrested in June 2020. The formal reason was an investigation under the economic article, but few doubt that the case was political, and the prosecution began only because of the ex-banker's desire to participate in the presidential elections. Babaryka was not registered as a candidate, was convicted and sent to a colony for 14 years. He did not admit guilt.
