Barys Hamaida detained by riot police in Vitsebsk
The opposition activist from Vitsebsk campaigned for boycott of the election, reports Radio Liberty. He came out with a poster "No real election with legitimate outcome is possible without legitimate Constitution". He stood in the city center for about an hour, when riot police arrived and ordered to take the poster away. Hamaida refused, the policemen accused him of disobeyance and drove him to the police department.
Let us remind you, Hamaida was detained one more time this week, together with the CCP BPF member Jan Dziarzhautsau. The opposition activists urged the citizens to boycott the election. Hamaida was sentenced to 5 days of detention and then released pre-term, and Dziarzhautsau was fined for 350 thousand roubles.
