Crimean Council adopts ‘independence declaration’
The Crimean Council refers to the decision of the UN International Court of Justice on Kosovo of July 22, 2010.
The court admitted that declaring independence by parts of states did not violate any international legislation norms back then, UNIAN reports.
According to the declaration, if people decide to join the Russian Federation during the referendum of March 16, Crimea will be announced an independent and sovereign republic.
Separatists will ask Russia to annex Crimea then.
