Donetsk Republic dissolves itself in less than a day
Donetsk Basin patriotic forces committee decides to annul its decision to declare the independence of ‘Donetsk Republic’, censor.net.ua reports.
The reason for the decision was numerous appeals of citizens who disagreed with the idea of creation of Donetsk Republic and joining Russia.
The committee held the People’s Assembly in Donetsk on April 7. It was decided to cancel the decision to create Donetsk Republic. It was also decided to forbid any referendums on the territory of Donetsk Oblast before the corresponding legal base was created. Participants of the People’s Assembly also announced that the declaration of secession of Donetsk Oblast from Ukraine was illegal and resolved to preserve the region as part of the independent state of Ukraine.
