First virtual bank may appear in Belarus before 2018
The logical continuation of the digital banking trend will be virtualization of all bank processes. This means the creation of so-called virtual bank. The first virtual bank may appear in Belarus in 2017-2018. This opinion, according to BelaPAN, was stated by the Deputy Director General of IT company SoftClub Dzmitry Filimonau.
Experts say that there are already such banks in the world, including in the CIS countries. He added that many Belarusian banks have already announced their desire to become virtual.
Filimonau said that the prerequisites for the creation of a virtual bank in Belarus are the development of digital banking at the National Bank, the development strategy for 2016-2020, the draft decree on digital bank technologies.
The expert said one of the major factors slowing down the process was the unpreparedness of the majority of customers for this. "The youth growing up is ready to be served in a fully virtual banks. They today spend most of the time online, in social networks, where they receive the necessary information. And we also are ready for it - as developers. We already have the mecessary software," he said.
A virtual bank will fully serve the client online, without them coming to the bank.
