Art Manor founder detained in Minsk
Stas Babaitsau faces 15 days in jail for 'swearing in public' after asking a police patrol to present their ID.
The founder of Art Manor Stas Babaitsau was detained in Minsk yesterday. He managed to report that he was near the Kastrycnickaja metro station, Radio Liberty reports. Two policemen wanted to check his documents. Babaitsau asked them to show their police certificates. The policemen considered it to be ‘disobedience’ and accused Stas of petty hooliganism.
Stat and his friend were rudely detained and taken to the Central District police department. Stas refused to sign the detention report. His friend signed it and was let off. Stas will stand trial today.
