German volunteer deported from Belarus

German volunteer Susana Paul must leave Belarus by midnight on April 1, according to the Belarusian Interior Ministry, reports Radio Svaboda.  Susana Paul was expected to leave Belarus by April 3. Yesterday, she received a visa for the next three days. The visa was annulled today.

Euroradio reported earlier that Susana Paul and her compatriot Solwei Schoris were to be deported back on March 24. They were held for three house in a police station. They were initially accused of illegally visiting schools and the university in Mahilyow. Later, they were accused of having violated the registration procedures.

On March 27, the girls were told that an administrative offence case against was closed. Solwei Schories left Belarus on March 29 when her visa expired.

The German volunteers arrived in Mahilyow 5 months ago to work with handicap children.
