International gang ambushed by police commandos in Slutsk
Police detain five people - three Russian citizens and two residents of Babruisk who are charged with armed robbery in Belarus.
They plotted to attack a Slutsk entrepreneur and his family closer to midnight on October 15. All five were wearing masks and had weapons with them. However, when the criminals broke into the yard of their intended victim, they were arrested by a special organized-crime squad of the Interior Ministry with support from Almaz police commandos.
According to Interfax-West, prosecutors have begun criminal proceedings against the detainees who face between 6 and 15 years in prison and property confiscation. All members of this international gang remain in custody at a pre-trial detention center in Minsk.
