Lukashenka: relations between Belarus and EU less vague than before
He also considers Belarus an important element in building a secure Europe.
On February 24, Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with the Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Maria Schmid. The EU representative arrived in our country on a visit.
During the meeting, the Belarusian leader said he expects to start a good dialogue between our country and the European Union.
"I think that it is a move in the right direction. Moreover, the relations between Belarus and the European Union today are not as vague as before," BELTA quotes Lukashenka. He also said that Belarus is ready to build relations with the EU on an equal non-discriminatory basis.
In addition, the Belarusian leader noted the significant role of Belarus in the overall security of the European continent. In turn, Helga Maria Schmid thanked the Belarusian side for "contribution to solving the complex crises in the European Region", BELTA reports.
