MEP not allowed to attend hockey championship in Belarus
Marek Migalski was stopped in Brest when the Warsaw train passengers where passing the border control on May 12.
Migalski and his colleagues had to stay at the Belarusian border until morning waiting for another train to return to Poland.
The MEP is known for his bold comments on the human rights situation in Belarus and is an active adherent of strict measures as regards the Belarusian regime. The MEP also conducted a championship boycott campaign due to repressions exercised on the Belarusian opposition.
Head of the Swedish human rights organization Östgruppen Martin Uggla was not allowed to enter Belarus for the championship earlier.
