Minute’s silence to be organized on Belarusian radio and TV on May 9

A national minute’s silence will be announced in Belarus on Victory Day. State and independent mass media will become silent on May 9. The deputy Minister of Information Alyaksandr Slabadchuk has informed about this Thursday. Slabadchuk: “All TV channels, cablecasting TV and radio stations will stop broadcasting at 12.08. An announcer will say: “The people’s feat will live through centuries. Neither we nor our descendants will forget about those we owe our lives to. Let all Belarus commemorate them during this minute”. A minute’s silence. The minute’s silence will start after that. It will take 60 seconds. When the 60 seconds ends the announcer will say: “Eternal glory to the heroes who died fighting for freedom and our Motherland’s independence”.

TV and radio broadcasting will be resumed after that.
