People detained near Taras Shevchenko monument to stand trial in Minsk
15 people came to the monument to commemorate Sky Hundred heroes including Belarusian Mihail Zhyzneuski yesterday.
Some of the people detained near Taras Shevchenko monument near the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk on Thursday will stand trial. People gathered there to mark the anniversary of the shooting in Kiev Maidan and to commemorate Belarusian Sky Hundred hero Mihail Zhyzneuski and other Ukrainian heroes. They laid flowers, sang Ukraine’s anthem and the Belarusian religious anthem Strong God. They were arrested afterwards.
The detained were delivered to Minsk Central District Department of the Interior, Radio Liberty reports. They were made to face the wall for three hours. The policemen did not allow Nina Bahinskaya to take a seat regardless of her age.
4 people were summoned at about 12.30 a.m. – Nina Bahinskaya, Zmitser Zaharevich, Yury Vouchak and Valeria Charnamortsava. Five people have stayed in the police office: Volha Mikalaichyk (she had a big portrait of Mihail Zhyzneuski on her), Ales Makayeu, Yauhen Batura, Maksim Vinyarski and Mikola Kolas.
They will probably stand trial today.
