Poll: Strelkov could leave Putin behind at 2018 presidential elections
A survey by Russian radio station Echo of Moscow reveals Ukraine's pro-Russian rebels leader Igor Girkin enjoying more support than Vladimir Putin.
Listeners and readers were asked about their choice at the presidential election in 2018. 3630 people took part in the poll on the radio’s website. 25% would vote for Igor Girkin (Strelkov, ‘Strelok’). He is a Muscovite and retired FSB officer. Girkin is in charge of terrorists in Donetsk now. Only 20.1% would vote for Vladimir Putin. 64.2% of the 530 people who phoned the radio supported Girkin and 35.8% – Putin.
