Poroshenko, Putin, Merkel and Hollande talk by phone
The leaders of ‘the Norman Four’ have discussed the ceasefire that will come into force on February 16.
The Ukrainian President has participated in a phone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President François Hollande and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Petro Poroshenko’s website reports.
A full ceasefire is required in order to remove military equipment and heavy artillery from the area, the Ukrainian leader stressed. Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel, François Hollande and Vladimir Putin noted the necessity of creating conditions for OSCE observers’ work in Donetsk Oblast. They agreed to continue the ‘Norman’ negotiations on February 16.
