Ausra Bernotene leaves her position due to Byalyatski's case
This official of the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice took the final decision to disclose the human rights defender's accounts to Belarus.
She filed an application for discharge due to her own wish, informs DELFI. Minister of Justice Remigijus Šimašius saw this application when he returned from his visit tot he Lithuanian President.
However, according to the Minister, "Byalyatski's case" is still under investigation in the Ministry.
Let us remind you, Lithuania and Poland disclosed the information about the bank account of human rights defender Ales Byalyatski and other civil activists to the Belarusian authorities. Two officials of the general public prosecutor's office in Poland, responsible for this incident, were fired. In Lithuania, two more officials apart from Bernotene may be subjected to responsibility.
