Policemen who detained Euroradio journalists to be punished
The General Prosecutor’s Office has revealed violations. The Minister of Internal Affairs has to punish his subordinates now.
The General Prosecutor’s Office has finished the check-up connected with the detention of Euroradio journalists – Pavel Svyardlou (twice) and Andrei Yeliseyeu. According to Pavel Radzivonou, head of the department for legislation observation supervision of the General Prosecutor’s Office, specific facts were listed in Euroradio’s appeal. The check-up has revealed violations. The Minister of Internal Affairs has been obliged to subject the policemen “who committed procedural violations” to disciplinary responsibility.
