Several dozen cafes may be fined for Euro-2012 broadcasts
The rightholder has been tracking legal and illegal broadcasts of the championship.
About a hundred cafes and restaurants all over Belarus concluded contracts for broadcasting Euro-2012 matches with the rightholder - Belarusian State Broadcasting Company.
As Euroradio has found out, several dozen cafes broadcasted matches without contacts. They may be fined now. Compensation may be demanded from them in court. The administration of the TV channel's sport broadcasting department has informed Euroradio about it.
BT Representative: "The football is not over and the Olympic Games are ahead. We are the rightholder too and there will be a lot of broadcasts including football matches. Many cafes have signed contracts for several months, half a year or even the whole year, not only for the period of Euro-2012. This law is common in all countries. It has been in power in Europe for a long time".
The cafes that broadcasted matches by satellite may be subjected to responsibility too. However, it will not be done by the channel. it will be done by the main rightholders who will be informed about such cases.
Let us remind you that BT sent letters to cafes before Euro-2012 informing them about the necessity of signing contracts to broadcast matches. It costs about 500 thousand roubles a month.
