Swedish Migration Agency reconsiders approach to Belarusian applicants
Swedish Parliament held a debate on granting asylum to Belarusian refugees
December 13, the Swedish Parliament held a debate on granting asylum to Belarusian refugees, reports the channel People's Ambassadors in Belarus. Migration Minister Johan Fashel and opposition MP Karina Ederbrink took part in the discussion.
Karina Ederbrink noted that it's unacceptable to deny asylum to Belarusians who may face severe repression in their homeland. In response, the Minister said that the Swedish Migration Agency was reviewing the process of working with Belarusian applicants and that a report on this issue would be presented in the near future.
