Tymoshenko: Thank you but I don't want to be prime minister

The press office of Yulia Tymoshenko's Fatherland party said in a statement:

“It came as a surprise that I am being proposed for the post of Ukraine's prime minister. Nobody discussed this issue with me."

“Thank you for your respect but I ask not to consider my candidature for the post of the head of government," Ukrainska pravda quoted Tymoshenko as saying.

Yulia Tymoshenko was released from prison on February 22 after Ukraine's parliament Verkhovna Rada voted to free her. The former prime minister and the leader of Fatherland party was sentenced in 2011 to seven years in jail for the abuse of power when signing the 2009 gas deal with Russia.

The EU and the US described the sentence as politically motivated and criticized the Ukrainian authorities for targeted justice.

Адразу пасля зняволення ў Юліі Цімашэнка пачаліся праблемы са здароўем: з траўня 2012 году яна знаходзілася ў харкаўскай лякарні №5 з дыягназам “грыжа міжпазваночнага дыску”. На волю яна выйшла проста з медыцынскай установы. Цімашэнка мае праблемы з перасоўваннем, таму яе вывозілі на інвалідным вазку.

Адразу пасля вызвалення палітык паехала ў Кіеў і выступіла на Майдане з кранальнай прамовай, у якой заклікала пакараць усіх вінаватых у трагічных падзеях з чалавечымі ахвярамі.
