Yerevan police threaten to disperse protest action again

Protesters must free the road in Bagramyan Avenue until 10 a.m. (9 a.m. Minsk Time), Yerevan police announced. Yerevan police chief Ashot Karapetsyan has threatened to take measures in order to unblock the road, meduza.io reports. He is hoping that MPs will be able to persuade protesters to leave the road.

Armenian politicians and artists came to the protest action on June 24 night. They formed ‘a live shield’ between protesters and the police to prevent clashes. Protesters refused to meet President Serzh Sargsyan at night. They simply demand to cancel the hike in the electricity payment rates.
