Malaysia Airlines wants to rebrand after two plane crashes

Malaysia Airlines has decided to rebrand after two Boeing 777-200ER crashes, new CEO Christophe Mueller announced. One of the plane crashes occurred in March 2014: a Boeing 777-200ER (flight MH#&) with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board disappeared over the South China Sea. The investigation is still in process.

Another Boeing 777-200ER (MH17) with 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board crashed over Donetsk Oblast.

The company will change its name, emblem and strategy. Malaysia Airlines will restructure its business, divest itself of non-core assets and reduce the staff of about 20 thousand employees to a third.
