Putin: Russia not to go to war

The Russian Federation will not wage war against Ukraine, Putin announced. “We are not going to go to war against the Ukrainian people,” the Russian President said.

“If we make such a decision, it will be done to defend Ukrainian citizens, let them try shooting at their own people. We will be behind their backs,” Vladimir Putin said.

Moscow will develop economic and other relations with Ukraine after the situation in the country is stabilized and a presidential election is conducted, RIA Novosti quotes Putin.
