72-year-old Valer Shchukin was detained in the railway station square on July 3. After detention he was sentenced to 5 days of administrative arrest. He spent them in the Akrestsina street detention center. The human rights activist was supposed to be released in the evening on July 8, but unknown people in plain clothes put him on the floor in a car and drove to some field. There they made him stand by the ditch under machine guns' muzzles, Charter'97 informs. Some time later the unknown people left and Shchukin managed to call his family.
