Ministry of Labour: Freeloaders yet to assault unemployment centers
The official unemployment rate in Belarus is about 0.5% or 21000 people, and the number will not increase by year end, according to official data
These numbers were reported by placement department head of the Ministry of Labour Aleh Takun.
The unemployment statistics is calculated by the number of people who register in placements services. If they don’t, they will not get to the official unemployment statistics in Belarus.
Has the number increased after the news about the possible freeloader tax? There is no wave of registration in placement services at the moment, Aleh Takun said.
"We expect the unemployment level to stay the same by the end of the year. We think so,” Aleh Takun said. Speaking about the dole (up to Br260 thousand), he noted that the sum had to be a stimulus to look for a new job.
