The information that the Uralkali CEO was transferred under the house arrest has been provided by RIA Novosti with a reference to Baumgertner's Russian lawyer Alexey Basistov. Baumgertner's mother, who arrived to Minsk the day before hoping for a meeting with her son in the KGB detention center, was allowed to see him.
The Russian businessman was arrested in late August after the break-up between Uralkali and Belaruskali. later, the Belarusian authorities applied for the international investigation of the company's co-owner Suleiman Kerimov.
