16 thousand Belarusian teenagers suffer from chronic alcoholism
The number has been mentioned by the head of the prevention department of the Chief department for keeping law and order Raman Melnik. About 30 thousand crimes are committed in a state of intoxication every year in Belarus.
Melnik: "Speaking about the last year (2009) we had to state that almost 270 thousand people were subjected to administrative responsibility for violating the anti-alcohol law which resulted in drinking in public places – in streets, parks and squares of cities”.
More than 180 thousand Belarusians are registered in narcological dispensaries.
