21 pickets in support of Belarus–Poland visa-free regime planned in Belarus
Activists of the campaign For Small Border Movement supported by the BCD have applied for the pickets.
The initiators of the campaign have asked the administrations of 19 checkpoints at the Belarusian-Polish border for permission to organize the pickets. Their goal is ‘to inform citizens about the realization of the border movement agreement between the Republic of Belarus and Republic of Poland and to collect signatures in order to ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to speed up the process of signing the agreement.’
The initiators of the action would like to inform inhabitants of Belarusian cities situated near the border about the benefits and peculiarities of the small border movement with Poland and Lithuania, bchd.info reports.
The pickets are appointed for the end of August and beginning of September. If the authorities allow it, they will be held in 19 towns and district centres that may be affected by the small border movement agreement with Poland and Lithuania: Brest, Vysokaye, Zhabinka, Kamyanets, Malaryta, Prushany, Hrodna, Svislach, Vyalikaya Berastavitsa, Vaukavysk, Skidzel, Masty, Astravets, Ashmyany, Voranava, Iuye, Lida, Shchuchyn and Smarhon.
