Belarus to get assistance for migrants programs
A two-year international assistance project to help Belarus deal with migrants and refugees has been signed in Minsk.
The European Commission and the UN have jointly allocated 720 thousand euros for the project, the biggest assistance Belarus is to get in the refugee and migration field. In the past ten years, the UN have provided assistance worth $300 thousand to the border control services in Belarus.
Under the project, three Internet centers will be established to handle the migration flows at the border. Besides, border guards will be provided with 8 specialized minibuses to transport refugees.
The project envisages the organization of several workshops and seminars for the Belarusian border guards on refugee and migration issues.
