The independent community in Belarus is today marking the Day of Belarusian Solidarity. Actions urging the government in Belarus to free political prisoners and halt prosecution of opposition activists will take place in this country and abroad. Charter'97 reports that the most massive pickets are expected to take place in front of the Belarusian embassies in Washington and the Hague.
