Belarus receives last $670 billion from IMF
The fifth and final tranche of the IMF’s stand-by credit has arrived in Belarus. 670 billion dollars has been transferred to the account of the Ministry of Finance. On the whole, Belarus has received about 3.46 billion dollars from the IMF. The Belarusian National Bank thinks that the Stand-by programme played the key part in the stabilization of the country’s economy in 2009 and allowed to preserve stability in the money- market.
Experts of the IMF mission are expected to visit Minsk in May. They will sum up the results of the Stand-by programme and discuss Belarus’ further cooperation with the fund.
