Belarusian Ambassador to Bishkek has no information about Bakiyev’s decoration

The Belarusian Ambassador was invited to the Kyrgyz MFA on August 14, Radio Liberty reports. He was asked to explain the information about the decoration of overthrown President Kurmenbek Bakiyev with the state Order of Friendship of Peoples.

The Kyrgyz MFA considers the decoration an unfriendly action ‘that hurt the feelings of relatives and friends of those who were killed and wounded on April 7, 2010.’ The decoration ‘is thoughtless support of the criminal and his milieu’ that does damage to the two states’ bilateral relations, Kyrgyz diplomats said.

The information about Bakiyev’s decoration appeared on the Internet but was not officially confirmed or refuted.
