Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed the order “To optimize the President’s Administration and reduce its staff by 30% by May 1… The number of employees should total 118 including 108 civil servants.” on February 13.

Under the order, 118 people were planned to keep their jobs at the Presidential Administration. However, as of today, 153 people remain employed. 45 people were to be laid off.

Belarus Statistics Agency calculates the number of employees who were made redundant every month. Only 1 (one) public servant was dismissed in February. 17 officials were dismissed in March.

As a result, only 25 people were made redundant over the past three months while it was necessary to reduce the staff by 45 employees in the President’s Administration alone.
