British spin doctor plans to make millions in Belarus
Timothy Bell, a prominent British public relations executive, plans to make millions of dollars on improving the image of Belarus and its leadership. In an interview with the Moscow Times newspaper, Bell said that Alexander Lukashenka "would like his country to be better understood, and his successes to be better grasped". "Lukashenka doesn't see why Belarus can't be a friend to the West and a friend to Russia at the same time", Bell said.
However, the British PR guru did not elaborate on the methodology of making a softer image of Lukashenka and Belarus.
Timothy Bell met with the head of Belarus last week and was hired by the Belarusian president to improve the country's image in the West. The list of Bell's former clients includes Russian oligarch Boris Berezovski, the Saudi government and the former prime minister of Thailand, reminds Charter'97.
